Advanced Certificate of Completion in Project Management
This program of study recognizes professionals who attained the knowledge and experience to oversee all aspects of project management.
To earn a Advanced Certificate of Completion in Project Management, you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Complete seven courses within four years. At least three of these must be taken from the Project Management Core courses
- Pass the final test at the end of each course with a minimum grade of 70%
- Attend at least 90% of class time
The following courses help you prepare for this certification.
Start by taking at least three of the following Project Management Courses:
Project Management Fundamentals (PM01)
Project Management, Leadership, and Communication (PM02)
Schedule and Cost Control (PM03)
Contract Management Principles and Practices (PM05)
Quality for Project Managers (PM06)
You may apply up to four courses from the following electives courses:
Applied Project Management (PM08)
Financial Management for Project Management Professionals (PM23)
Negotiation Skills for Project Managers (PM26)
Establishing and Managing the Project Management Office (PM80)
Project Troubleshooting and Recovery (PM83)
Leading Complex Projects (PM86)
Earned Value Management (PM91)
Project Portfolio Management (PM94)
BA Core Courses (limit two)
Business Analysis Essentials (BA10)
Requirements Development, Documentation, and Management (BA20)
Effective Facilitation for Business Analysts (BA85)
Business Process Analysis (BA45)
Requirements Validation and Testing (BA60)
Upon successful completion of the required courses, you will be awarded one of the following:
- an Advanced Certificate of Completion in Project Management by the McMaster University Centre for Continuing Education or,
- a Master's Certificate in Project Management from Université du Québec en Outaouais (students in the National Capital Region) or Université du Québec à Montréal (students in Quebec).
Transfer of Credits between Project Management and Business Analysis Certificates:
Students wishing to complete an Advanced Certificate of Completion in Project Management AND an Advanced Certificate of Completion in Business Analysis may apply up to two courses, from the first certificate to the second certificate.
